LEVC adds Autohaus München to German dealer network

LEVC (London Electric Vehicle Company) has made a key new dealer appointment in Germany as part of its continuing European expansion strategy.

Autohaus München, subsidiary of the scanAutomobile GmbH, joins the LEVC network as the representative of the brand in the Munich area.

Autohaus München will provide full sales and after sales support for LEVC’s TX taxi and TX shuttle, based on the iconic London black taxi and, from Spring 2021, the company’s new VN5 electric van. Autohaus München has already delivered a number of TX Shuttles in the Munich region and has been responsible for aftersales for customers since the start of this year.

The appointment of the Munich dealership brings the number of full LEVC dealers in Germany to seven along with two further aftersales sites1

Joerg Hofmann, CEO of LEVC, commented: “We are pleased to welcome Autohaus München to the LEVC dealer network.  They will play a vital role as we continue our rapid European expansion, helping businesses and local authorities switch to greener mobility operations. Autohaus München is renowned for its professional sales and service facilities and will be an excellent addition to our network in Germany.”

Harald Krist, Managing Director at Autohaus München, subsidiary of the Auto Eder group, said: “We are very happy to be the first dealership in the region of Munich to offer LEVC’s sustainable electric vehicles. Customer demand for commercial vehicle e-mobility solutions is increasing and LEVC ideally complements our model portfolio. Both the TX Shuttle and VN5 offer unique flexibility and are ideally suited to our cities.”

TX Shuttle shares the same DNA as the electric TX taxi and is powered by the same eCity technology, a zero emissions capable taxi with a flexible range of 316 miles (510 km) and a pure EV range of 63 miles (101 km)2. Since TX was launched in 2018, more than 4,500 models have been sold and its green footprint continues to grow. Drivers can save more than €100 a week on fuel costs, 21 million litres of fuel have been saved from use and more than 36,000 tonnes of CO2 have been prevented from entering the atmosphere.

All TXs are purpose-built to keep all occupants safe and protected. Standard features include six passenger seats, wheelchair accessibility, a secure partition screen that separates the driver and passenger compartment, contactless payment in the rear, easy to clean surfaces and an intercom system that allows driver and passenger to always communicate clearly.

From next Spring, LEVC’s new electric van, VN5, will be launched in Europe. Operating in the one-tonne sector, VN5 shares the same bold, distinctive design and lightweight aluminium construction as TX, as well as its innovative eCity electric technology. This gives a flexible zero emissions capable range of over 300 miles (484 km) and, with up to 5.5m capacity, VN5 cargo capacity easily accommodates two Euro sized pallets with a gross payload of 830kg.

About LEVC

Since 2014, Geely has invested more than £500m into the London Electric Vehicle Company (LEVC), allowing it to build an entirely new manufacturing facility in Ansty, Coventry.  LEVC manufactures the world’s only purpose-built, range extended electric TX taxi and shuttle at its state-of-the-art factory and its new electric van, VN5, starts production in November 2020.

Having already established a new central European sales office in Frankfurt to increase LEVC’s presence across Europe, new markets in 2020 such as Egypt, Middle East, New Zealand and Australia will continue to increase the company’s export footprint. This strategy will see LEVC move from 90 percent domestic sales and 10 percent export to 60 percent export by 2022.

LEVC now has seven full sales and service dealers located in Germany: Weiterstadt, Regensburg, Bielefeld, Berlin, Hamburg, Karlsruhe and Munich. In addition to this, LEVC has two aftersales sites located in Hanau and Krefeld.
