Axtec, the commercial vehicle axle weighing specialist, has marked the production of its 10,000th OnBoard Load Indicator by donating the milestone equipment – and its installation – to the children’s charity, East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH).
Axtec’s OnBoard advanced monitoring system has been fitted to one of EACH’s donation support vans, which the charity uses to distribute donations between its warehouse and shops, and for collecting donated items from people’s homes.
“The OnBoard Load Indicator has proven to be a handy tool for boosting our efficiency without risking an overloaded vehicle,” said Roger Leggett, EACH Supply Chain Manager.
“Being able to move donations around and ensure we get maximum return on our supporters’ generosity is key to helping us deliver our vital care and support for children and their families.
“By having the OnBoard system installed, it means we can confidently carry more, allowing us to save time and money on unnecessary journeys. The simple, colour-coded dashboard interface also makes it easy for all of our drivers to use.
“All at EACH are very grateful for the kind donation made by Axtec, and we’d like to congratulate the team on reaching their outstanding manufacturing landmark.”
Axtec’s Keith Gresham said, “We’re delighted that our 10,000th OnBoard Load Indicator is hard at work supporting children and their families living with the reality of a life-threatening illness.
“The whole Axtec team has worked extremely hard to reach this important milestone, and the charitable donation of the system perfectly celebrates this achievement.
“To see EACH putting the OnBoard Load Indicator to good use on one of their vans is testament to the product’s diverse ability to help businesses cut costs, maximise efficiency and ensure vehicle safety.”
“And we’re now well on the way to installing our 20,000th OnBoard system, so we may well mark that milestone, too” he added.

Axtec’s market-leading OnBoard Load Indicator features a simple colour numeric and graphic interface, plus the new cost-saving customer calibration facility, to help keep service costs down.
Operators can save weight data automatically and download it via USB for further analysis.
Axle weights are displayed in an intuitive red, amber and green traffic light configuration, with outputs to tracking devices provided as standard. Enhanced functionality allows the user to access more detailed information via telematics in addition to the simple overload alert.
East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH), which operates three hospices covering Cambridgeshire, Essex, Norfolk and Suffolk, provides vital care for children and young people with life-threatening conditions, giving them and their families a safe environment to enjoy quality time together. EACH also offers extensive practical and emotional support for families caring for a child living with a condition.
