Demand rises for Timespace’s Bridge Alert as bridge strike prevention obligations under scrutiny

Timespace Technology is seeing increasing demand for its Bridge Alert device, as vehicle operators are reminded of their obligation to prevent bridge strikes.

Several recent bridge collisions have again highlighted the need to put systems in place to avoid such incidents, and the Traffic Commissioners have reiterated the potential for regulatory action if operators fail to take appropriate action.

Timespace Bridge Alert is a driver aid which gives audible and visual warnings of low bridges.

Bridge Alert works in conjunction with Timespace digital video recorders, the embedded Bridge Clear database and the vehicle’s GPS system to alert drivers to the proximity of a low bridge.

Henry Heylen, Timespace’s Commercial Director says: “The Traffic Commissioners have recently again stressed the need for operators to employ measures to mitigate the risk of bridge strikes.

“While route planning and driver training are undoubtedly essential, Bridge Alert provides additional reassurance.

“The dashboard-mounted device is easy to install and is a valuable tool to help all operators”.
