Bus operators from across the UK are set to benefit from new technical and safety innovations provided by seatbelting expert Birmingham Busworks, underpinned by Totalkare vehicle lifting equipment.
Birmingham Busworks, which grew out of the bodywork division of The Green Bus, are experts at installing fully certified retrofitted seatbelts to help operators to comply with contractual or legal requirements. In addition, their Driver Safety Vent innovation is a cost-effective measure to reduce driver exposure to air from the passenger saloon of the vehicle, helping to protect them and the operator’s business.
To support its ongoing vehicle service and repair operation, Birmingham Busworks has invested in two sets of mobile column lifts from Totalkare to provide flexible lifting capacity in their workshop while benefiting from the latest technology. By taking advantage of Totalkare’s flexible finance solutions, Birmingham Busworks has also been able to spread the cost with a competitive 12-month lease purchase plan.
Versatile lifting solution
Totalkare has supplied two sets of four T8DC cable-free mobile column lifts. Connecting across a wireless frequency, each column can lift up to 7,500kg and features adjustable forks to accommodate a range of wheel diameters. For tri- and four-axle vehicles, the lifts can also be connected in configurations of six and eight columns, making them a truly versatile lifting solution for any commercial vehicle workshop.
Both sets of mobile column lifts will be supported by a comprehensive service contract which includes two field service engineer visits per year as standard.
The mobile column lifts are complemented by a set of six short support stands which, when used in conjunction with mobile column lifts provide the operative with additional flexibility and safety in the maintenance of their vehicles. By supporting the wheel axle, a support stand enables the mobile column lift to be removed, allowing wheel-free access to the engineer.
Making buses safer
“We’ve previously used Totalkare’s mobile column lifts at The Green Bus, so were familiar with the quality of their lifts and aftersales service,” said Joseph Banks, Technical Service Executive at Birmingham Busworks, “Being able to spread the cost over 12 months suited us and we’re pleased with the added flexibility our new mobile column lifts will provide as our business continues to grow.”
Adam Bowser, Area Sales Manager for Totalkare, commented: “Birmingham Busworks are playing an important role in making buses safer for both drivers and passengers, particularly in the wake of COVID-19. Totalkare is pleased to support the future growth of the business through the provision of our market-leading mobile column lifts and look forward to providing additional support in future.”
