The Passenger Service Improvement Plan (PSIP) to deliver for 2022

Software supplier Passenger has announced its “promise for the future” as it looks to 2022.

the Passenger Service Improvement Plan (PSIP) is its pledge to continue helping deliver significant, lasting and ambitious change to bus operations, and to further develop inclusion, accessibility and collaboration between Passenger, operator companies, LTA’s suppliers and users.

Through new initiatives, the Passenger Service Improvement Plan aims to strengthen partnerships, build back better post-pandemic and help to increase passenger numbers by empowering people to choose the bus.

“As bus users ourselves, and with access to feedback from users across the UK, we understand what gives users the confidence to choose shared transport over less sustainable alternatives. 

“As operators work to make services faster, more reliable and more frequent, we will keep developing tools to make it easier to plan journeys, purchase tickets and integrate with other modes of transport.

In addition, we have strived to address industry imbalances, such as disproportionate gender splits in staffing.

“Our Inclusion Guild is a new initiative focused on encouraging both diversity and inclusion to bring the best out of employees and develop products that can be used by all, and we are excited to share our learnings in 2022. 

“Developing eco-friendly and active transport networks is now critical for a planet on the brink of climate crisis, and our PSIP pledge is recognition of our support for that goal – across every inch of the UK’s public transport network.”
