Kura, the market-leading education and corporate transport management platform, has appointed a new sales and marketing director as it continues its mission to reduce car use and create safer, greener journeys.
Glen Hyde has been brought on board to lead Kura’s ongoing sales and marketing function. Glen brings almost a decade’s experience in senior roles across the education and technology sectors, having built, developed and led teams for major businesses in these industries.
Glen has been appointed with the remit of expanding Kura’s footprint across the education and corporate transport sectors, promoting the numerous benefits offered by shared Home-to-School and Home-to-Work shuttle transport services. Since launching in September 2019, Kura has consistently grown both its service offering and customer base, winning multiple awards and enabling green, socially-distanced journeys for schools and businesses across the country.
The business works schools across the UK ensuring that, each day, 11,000+ school children complete their home to school journeys safely, providing parents with peace of mind via the secure Kura parent app with tracking technology.
Furthermore, Kura has recently increased its presence in the corporate transport sector, enabling its managed transport services and Kura tracking technologies to be used for both home-to-work and staff shuttle needs. Through this, Kura aims to become the leading supplier of corporate shuttle services, providing a safer, greener solution for employers and employees that may harbour reservations around the safety and reliability of public transport.
Commenting on his appointment, Glen said: “I’m excited to be joining Kura which matches my aspirations and ambitions for the sector. The business has been making waves in the education and corporate transport industries for some time now and, with the technology, infrastructure and expertise Kura already has in place, it is now poised to develop into the true market leader in this space.
Godfrey Ryan, CEO of Kura, said: “While the past few months have been challenging, for both ourselves and those we work with, the ever-growing need for safe, socially distanced transport provides the shared transport industry with a unique opportunity to demonstrate its value, keeping the country running during these unprecedented times.
“We’ve identified the market opportunity that exists to grow our new technology only offering and create a corporate strategy to allow us to deliver that. Glen will be crucial in the delivery and successful implementation of these plans, allowing us to add true value to both our operator partners and the schools and businesses we work with. Particularly in the current climate, the way in which we transport ourselves is in dire need of new, innovative solutions that benefit all – a solution this appointment, and renewed brand focus, will allow us to provide.”
