Andy Monshaw to replace John Clarfelt as Ticketer CEO

VIDEO CONTENT: Today Ticketer, the leading smart ticketing and technology provider, announced that Andy Monshaw will be joining the team on 2 November as Ticketer UK and Group CEO, following John Clarfelt’s decision to transition into the role of Founder.

John Clarfelt explains: “As my friends in the industry will know, Ticketer, our team and our customers, are in my soul.

“And, as every great business needs to keep evolving, our plan has always been to introduce new blood into the business, to keep driving Ticketer forward and leading innovation for public transport.

“The timing has been down to finding the right person for this role – clearly not only with the competency and passion to continue to develop the business but, equally important, to continue the Ticketer Group ethos, where our team and customers are at the very centre of all we do.

“Post-COVID there will be significant changes to public transport. There are challenges ahead, but also opportunities. We’ve got reset the way we see things.”

Andy has a wealth of experience, having spent over 25 years in a variety of key roles with IBM, and most recently as the CEO of NGA HR.

He also sits on the board of several technology start-ups. In addition to this, Andy comes to Ticketer with international experience across technology and service businesses; driving growth with a passion, energy, and attitude that will fit right into the Ticketer and FARA culture.

Andy says: “Ticketer has grown the business at a phenomenal rate over the last 11 years and I am incredibly excited to join the team at such a pivotal time. I am especially excited about continuing to have support from John as he helps to drive this great company to the next phase.”

John will remain fully involved in the business, focussing inter alia, on Group innovation and strategy, and will remain on the Group Board.

CEO John Clarfelt issues a personal update, the reason that Andy Monshaw was chosen, and he thinks he should be called Head of Blue Sky…

Lisa Stone, Ticketer Group Chairperson adds: “I want to take this opportunity to thank John for his entrepreneurial spirit and vision, that has helped guide the company to where it is now.

“I look forward to working with him in his new Founder capacity, although I dread trying to control his blue sky thinking now that he is released from the day-to-day detail of running the business!

“I would also like to welcome Andy, who I know will bring the same enthusiasm and commitment to our people and our customers.”
