VIDEO CONTENT: Former Transport for London MD Surface Transport Leon Daniels OBE takes the wheel of a zero-emission EVM minibus – one of many vehicles that visitors can try for themselves at next week’s ITT Hub 2021.
Ahead of the public opening of ITT Hub – Innovation and Technology in Transport 2021 – on Wednesday 30 June – 1 July, Leon Daniels was one of a number of specially invited guests who tried out the event’s unique demonstration drives.
A series of special test routes – both on and off public roads – have been designed for visitors to the fresh new interactive event to experience the very latest in vehicle technology.
Fourteen of the world’s most cutting-edge vehicle manufacturers have confirmed they will be participating in the much-anticipated Ride & Drive opportunity at the free new Innovation and Technology in Transport event – ITT Hub.
Taking place on 30 June and 1 July 2021 at Farnborough International Exhibition & Conference Centre, ITT Hub will be the largest show of its kind in 40 years.
DAF Trucks, IVECO, Renault Trucks, Fiat Professional, Wrightbus, Ilesbus, Switch Mobility, EVM, Pelican Yutong, BYD, ADL, Harris-Maxus and Ford will all be offering visitors the unique chance to try out their most innovative vehicles, ranging from electric vans and trucks to the world’s first hydrogen double decker bus.
Visitors will also be able to experience the first ever UK public showings of new products from Volta Trucks and Fiat Professional. Further vehicle unveils are anticipated at the two day show.
Alongside the Ride & Drive will be an Autonomous and Last-Mile Electric Hub, where visitors will have the chance to test ride electric scooters and motorbikes designed for couriers and meal deliveries, as well as last-mile electric cargo trikes and a fully autonomous passenger ‘pod’.
The Ride & Drive will take place on separate roadways – one for buses, coaches and vans and another for trucks – and will sit alongside an extensive exhibition in Farnborough’s state of the art new exhibition centre. The event will also host Logistics UK’s Future Logistics Conference, which will be headlined by British astronaut Major Tim Peake CMG.
Mark Griffin CEO, Binswood Media adds: “Ride & Drive will be one of the most exciting and interactive parts of the ITT Hub exhibition; it is wonderful to see so many leading names signed up to take part.
