Switch Mobility hosted a visit from the Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan (pictured, left) and the newly elected Mayor of West Yorkshire Tracy Brabin (pictured, right).
They visited the electric bus manufacturer Switch Mobility in Sherburn in Elmet to see some of the benefits that green investment from TfL is having in different parts of the country. There are currently over 100 Switch electric buses in operation in London’s fleet, with delivery of 30 more buses in progress.
London now has more than 500 zero emission buses overall with a target of making London’s bus network zero-emission by 2030.
The ambition of making all London buses zero-emission by 2030 will drive substantial bus orders totalling more than £4bn. So, while London’s investment in Switch in Yorkshire is about tackling dirty emissions in the capital, it is also about growing the economy across the whole UK supply chain and investing in greener technologies.
